Xtndr 1.6 Release Notes

- NEW: Prepared Xtndr to allow for future versions to be installed via HotSync without disabling Xtndr first. To install Xtndr 1.6, however, you'll still have to disable any installed older versions.
- NEW: Xtndr now sets the hsAttrKeyguardDialogOn attribute so other applications can tell whether the info popup is currently showing as the keyguard dialog.
- NEW: You can now configure the info popup to open on a short press of the side key.
- NEW: Added a slide to unlock feature similar to that of a popular phone made by a fruitily named company. If you have disabled all but the first two info widgets in Info Popup preferences, the slider will always be visible in the keyguard info popup. Otherwise, it will show when you in the lower forth area of the popup.
- NEW: The character alternatives editor now comes with a character palette that allows you to pick any character the Palm OS supports.
- NEW: You can now double tap a special character mapping or one of its alternatives in the mapping editor to open it.
- NEW: When the special character mappings list has the five-way navigator focus, you can now press the return key to edit the selected mapping or press backspace to delete it.
- NEW: When the alternatives list in the mapping editor has the five-way navigator focus, you can now press the return key to edit the selected alternative or press backspace to delete it.
- NEW: Xtndr can pause PocketTunes automatically when your headphones get pulled. There may be a short (about one second) delay before PocketTunes actually pauses the currently playing song.
- NEW: You can now choose whether you want Xtndr to reactivate automatically after a system reset.
- CHANGED: Xtndr now recognizes the CDMA and GSM Centro models as being compatible.
- CHANGED: The calendar widget has been disabled because it was too unreliable. It will come back in a future version.
- CHANGED: When you press the Alt key and there is no mapping for the character at the insertion point, Xtndr will no longer show the system default alternative characters list.
- CHANGED: Info widgets are now highlighted when you tap them.
- CHANGED: Info widgets now give visual feedback when they are activated by their shortcuts.
- CHANGED: The top row phone status widgets have been completely rewritten to circumvent yet another horde of bugs in the system software. At this time. however, the phone signal indicator only shows the signal strength and whether GPRS is attached on (that is, not necessarilly connected) on GSM devices.
- CHANGED: Optimized performance of the Unread Mail widget if SnapperMail is the default mail application.
- CHANGED: You are now prompted to confirm deleting a Launch Pad object.
- CHANGED: You can now press the backspace key to delete a Launch Pad object in Launch Pad preferences when the mappings list has focus.
- FIXED: Shift and option key presses should now be detected more reliably.
- FIXED: (Hopefully) made the operator info popup widget compatible with the CDMA Centro (USA) and the Treo 755p.
- FIXED: The five-way navigator now works properly in the Special Characters preferences when there are mappings for the numbers 1 to 4 or the equals sign.
- FIXED: Corrected some of the help texts.
- FIXED: Fixed a bug that would require other preferences to be set for some features to work.
